This panel style event features experts and those with lived experience with mental illness. Proceeds go to WABIY and Momentum Walk-In

About this Event

The first Elevate Impact Event of 2020 is Elevate: Mental Health!

Join us for an evening filled with conversation, connection, knowledge and education as we explore mental health, the diversity of those it affects and the impact on everyone involved. The more we have real conversations about mental health and mental illness the more we can tear down the stigma that surrounds it.

The evening will feature an insightful panel discussion moderated by Andrea Beça, followed by a Q&A. Elevate impact events are safe spaces to learn and connect, while making a difference.

Proceeds from the event are going to We All Believe in You, a non-profit mental health peer support community run and by and for individuals who are on a recovery journey from mental illness and Momentum Walk-In Counselling, a non profit walk in counselling service that works on a sliding fee scale so that everyone is able to access quality counselling services in their mental health journey.

Panelists include:

  • Ashley Mielke, Registered Psychologist and Founder & Director of The Grief and Trauma Healing Centre
  • Ron Campbell, Retired Staff Sergeant with the RCMP and Mental Health Advocate
  • Raffela Mancuso, University Student, Mental Health Advocate

The event is open to all ages and genders. Anyone who wants to learn more about mental health, mental illness, and how to help themselves or others is welcome. Please be aware the subject matter may be potentially upsetting. Those 17 years and under must attend with a paying adult.

Schedule of Events:

6:15 p.m. Doors open

6:45 p.m. Welcome and introductions

7 p.m. Panel and Q&A

What is an Impact Event?

Impact events are my initiative and commitment to our community to bring you purposeful discussion on important topics, wrapped in a beautiful evening out. I sincerely believe that when people know better they do better and it is with that belief that my commitment to impact events began. We all know that knowledge is power, so what better way to educate ourselves than in a safe space surrounded by inspiring people and topic authorities.
