Emotional Empowerment Speaker
Emotions and Me invites you to take part in our Emotional Empowerment Speaker Series. This is a series like none other. Emotions have become an uncomfortable topic and as a result we aren’t engaging in emotional conversations anymore or teaching emotional intelligence, and we want to change that.
We invite you to be a part of this ground-breaking series, to join us in breaking the silence of unwanted emotions and feelings, and leveraging this powerful resource.
Every evening will include a presentation, an opportunity to engage in open dialogue and discussion, and tools for enhancing emotional awareness.
The second talk of our series will take place on Thursday, Dec. 5 featuring Ashley Mielke, Registered Psychologist and Organizational Health and Culture Strategist. Ashley works with leaders at all levels to cultivate high-trust, high-performance Conscious Cultures, helping them to inspire, motivate, and engage their people for sustainable success and long-term profitability.
A highly sought-after strategic consultant and trainer, Ashley has led workshops and training courses for multi-million-dollar corporations, non-profits, the City of Edmonton, the Government of Canada, and numerous small businesses.
As Founder and Director of People and Culture at The Grief and Trauma Healing Centre Inc., Ashley has nearly a decade of clinical experience as a practicing psychologist, and it is this scientific background that forms the foundation of her signature training program—Conscious Culture Bootcamp.
We are excited to have Ashley partner with us on this exciting topic:
The Journey from the Head to the Heart
From a very young age we are taught to intellectualize our experiences. We are taught to distrust our intuition and minimize our emotions. By 15 years old we have already heard approximately 25,000 messages that sad feelings are not to be communicated or shared with others, reinforcing the disconnection of our heads from the rest of our experiences.
For many circumstances relying on our intellect to solve a problem is necessary and effective, but when it comes to the messy, complex, and human aspects of life, those same tools are often not emotionally useful.
A part of being human is acknowledging that life involves pain, unpredictability, and vulnerability, thus, it is important that we learn the emotional tools and skills to effectively move through those experiences in the most effective and meaningful way.
When we take the journey from our heads to our hearts, we not only process emotions more effectively, we deepen trust and connection in our relationships, we overcome habits that don’t serve us, we are happier, healthier, and more productive, and we deepen meaning and purpose in our lives.
Kim and Jackie from Emotions and Me are excited to facilitate this conversation. As part of the evening, we will also be providing an introduction to emotional awareness.
